About the OB/GYN Department

The OB/GYN Department has 26 faculty members and over 140 private attendings across all Gynecological and Obstetrical specialties. Duties

  • The Primary Care Physician Assistant will be responsible for delivery of primary care to patients enrolled at the Syracuse VA Medical Center Rome CBOC.
  • The provider will manage scheduled and unscheduled patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
  • Primary providers in the outpatient setting are typically assigned a panel of patients to manage.
  • Panel size is determined using VHA PCMM software, which calculates at the national level using a complex formula that incorporates local information such as acuity of assigned patients, available support staff, number of exam rooms, etc.
  • Each provider's panel size is specific to their practice and setting. Alternative or collateral duties may include management of a subsection of primary care patients, such as those with a disease status (e.g. agent orange patients) or demographic status (women veterans, OIF/OEF veterans, etc.).
  • Participation in special projects related to the assigned section may be required when such projects become available through strategic or other initiatives.
  • Providers may act as surrogates for patients of their colleagues when one or more colleagues are on leave.
  • Timely documentation is necessary in all areas in accordance with departmental policy.
  • All administrative work should be completed in a timely fashion. Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically appropriate.
  • Quality of care should meet professional standards at all times. All physician assistants will work within their privileges at all times unless an emergency necessitates otherwise.
  • Work schedule: Full time – Monday-Friday 8:00 am‑4:30 pm (or as determined by the needs of the service). This is not a virtual position.

Responsibilities

  • Define SI architectural strategies for high‑speed memory and system interfaces
  • Perform early feasibility and scaling analysis for future data rates
  • Build hands‑on channel models across package, board, and system
  • Drive end‑to‑end SI co‑design with IO, package, and system architects
  • Translate SI insights into electrical requirements and architectural constraints

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in signal integrity or high‑speed interface design
  • Strong hands‑on SI modeling and simulation experience
  • Deep understanding of transmission lines, jitter, loss, and crosstalk

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related technical field
  • Experience with memory interfaces or high‑speed IO standards
  • Background in architecture or pre‑silicon exploration roles
  • Strong communication of complex SI trade‑offs to leadership

Base Salary Range (US): $177,000 - $387,000 per year

Additional Compensation: Benefits, bonuses and equity may be included.
